Candace M. Seagroves, Esq
is the owner of Seagroves Legal, PLLC. She was born in Raleigh and has remained a long-time resident of Wake County. Having grown up in a military family, Candace Seagroves takes pride in helping people with their Constitutional freedoms. Driven by her passion for people, Candace Seagroves is committed to help her clients move forward.
Candace Seagroves has devoted her entire career to the legal field and has more than 16 years experience in matters involving firearm laws. She first started her career as a criminal defense paralegal. While working full-time, Candace Seagroves obtained her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, North Carolina. While continuing her full time career as a state bar certified paralegal, Candace Seagroves entered North Carolina Central University School of Law where she began her law school career at night. During law school, Candace Seagroves interned at the United State’s Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. There she gained knowledge and experience related to federal prosecution and sentencing under the Armed Career Criminal Act. Candace M. Seagroves, Esq graduated law school third in her class and Magna Cum Laude.
A Passion for People
Following law school, Candace Seagroves’ career as an attorney remained devoted to her passion for helping people. Her practice is focused on guardianship matters and firearm rights, both of which require her to advocate for the rights of others. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem attorney in Wake County for hundreds of cases. She has also worked with parents and families in obtaining guardianship for their children, parents, or siblings. Candace Seagroves cares about her clients needs and she finds her work most rewarding when she can move people forward, either from a difficult past or a challenging present. For clients across the state, she has successfully tried cases involving the restoration of her clients’ firearm rights and the removal of civil disabilities resulting from prior mental health prohibitions.
Candace Seagroves continues to represent clients, both in and out of the courtroom, with compassion and commitment. She utilizes her prior experience and skills to provide zealous advocacy for her clients assisting them in moving forward by helping them in areas such as firearm rights restoration, expungement of their criminal convictions, reinstatement of their driver’s license, and obtaining guardianship over a loved one.
I became an attorney to advocate for others. Helping is not just my plan, but also my purpose. It is a big decision – choosing an advocate who will be your voice. Dedication and drive is exhibited throughout the accomplishments of Candace Seagroves’ career. She was selected recently by The National Trial Lawyers for “Top 40 under 40”. She was also nominated by Lawyers of Distinction in 2018 and 2019. Candace Seagroves also strives to give back to her community by using her legal capabilities to help those in need. She is a continuous volunteer with Legal Aid of North Carolina helping clients who cannot otherwise afford to have their records expunged and routinely participates in clinics and community events involving such matters as well.
